The June 2023 issue of the Clinical Kidney Journal (CKJ) is out!

The June 2023 issue of the Clinical Kidney Journal (CKJ) features an article highlighting harmonized efforts to advance kidney replacement therapies (KRTs). Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is on track to become the fifth global cause of death by 2040. Unfortunately, factors contributing to the disease – such as insufficient CKD awareness within healthcare systems and limitations of currently available KRTs – often go unsolved. The collaboration between EKHA and the American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP) is a joint effort within the Decade of the Kidney framework to address these issues.

Additionally, the article specifically calls attention to the effort made by EKHA’s Working Group ‘Breakthrough Innovation’ to push for an international framework for new innovative and affordable KRTs. It also features the Working Group’s 2021 published poster, which provides a visual representation of the organizations active in the field of kidney-related innovation.
