“Safe Hearts, Safe Kidneys: Elevating Kidney health on the EU Agenda” high-level event at the European Parliament
The European Kidney Health Alliance (EKHA) is honoured to organize the World Kidney Day event, hosted by MEP Michalis Hadjipantela: “Safe Hearts, Safe Kidneys: Elevating Kidney health on the EU Agenda”. The event will take place on Tuesday 3 March, 16:00-18:00 CET in room A3F383, at the European Parliament, Brussels.
As Europe continues to advance its cardiovascular health strategy, we hope you will join us for this timely discussion on cardio-renal-metabolic health and on strengthening prevention, early detection, and integrated care for chronic kidney disease across the EU. Below, you will find all relevant information regarding the programme and speakers.
This high-level event will bring together key opinion leaders from the European Parliament and EU Member States, clinicians and patient advocates to explore why cardio-renal-metabolic health should be a central pillar of the EU Safe Hearts Plan. It will also highlight the need to go further by considering kidney health across the full continuum of care – from prevention and early-detection to treatment and management – and set the groundwork for a European Parliament Resolution on Kidney Health.

About the European Kidney Health Alliance
The European Kidney Health Alliance (EKHA) brings together leading patient organisations, clinicians, researchers and policymakers to protect kidney health across Europe. We advocate for earlier prevention and diagnosis of chronic kidney disease, stronger EU action on organ donation and transplantation, and investment in innovation to deliver better, more sustainable treatments. With kidney disease affecting millions, costing billions, and often going unrecognised in health policy, EKHA works to ensure fair access to care, higher quality outcomes, and healthier lives.
